Beethovenfest Bonn 2010
»INTO THE OPEN. Utopia and Freedom in Music.« is this year’s motto. »Into the open«
is a phrase taken from a poem by Hölderlin, »Der Gang aufs Land«, in which the
reader is urged to set off for a place somewhere in the future, where conventions have
been overcome and new boundaries can be plumbed. The starting-point of our
programme is the turn of the 19th century, a time of social upheaval which left its
mark in particular on those works by Beethoven in which he creates a universal
language for the ideals of the age but also of the individual, a language which is
understood to this day.

Anton Eberl gibt eine Antwort in Es-Dur, die neben der Mozarts und Beethovens auch seine eigene Handschrift trägt. Peter Ruzicka zeigt, wie ein Solokonzert im 21. Jahrhundert klingt: fein ausdifferenzierte Klangwellen zwischen Bewegung und Erstarrung. Gustav Mahler hat Beethovens »Quartetto serioso« behutsam an den großen Konzertsaal angepasst und so eine dramatische Kammersymphonie geschaffen. |
Stella Doufexis 2. FreitagskonzertHört man die Sinfonische Dichtung von Nikolai Rimski-Korsakow, könnte man meinen, dass es Scheherazades Stimme selbst ist, die hier betört. Maurice Ravel hat diesen Gedanken in seinem schillernden Gesangszyklus „Shéhérazade“ aufgegriffen, der neben Rimski-Korsakows Orchesterwerk erklingen wird. Den Anfang des Konzerts macht die selten gespielte sinfonische Suite „Printemps“ von Claude Debussy, nach einem Gemälde von Botticelli. |
